“Love at the Water’s Edge” – Cinthia & Melvin’s Engagement
What an amazing day at Downtown Santa Barbara where we took this awesome engagement photography session when we ended the entire photo shoot at Stearns Wharf – Santa Barbara Sunset time.
Upon my first meeting with this seemingly angelic couple, it was clearly apparent the angels had a hand in joining these two, who met in church. Visibly in love and so at ease with each other, I could see the depth of devotion through the camera’s lens in every loving glance and heartfelt smile.
Fate also played a pivotal role in their love story, as Melvin is best friend to Cinthia’s sister’s husband, who introduced her to him. This was even more evidence that the pair was destined to be. And Stearn’s Wharf in Santa Barbara was the perfect backdrop to shoot their intimate engagement photos.
I caught streams of the day’s near ending light highlighting them as they strolled carefree, hand-in-hand along the water’s edge of the pier only they occupied. The romantic setting ideally set the stage for a picture-perfect interlude, which I commemorated forever in my photographic images.
Happily, I continued to follow them and snap every shared instant they enjoyed surrounded by the tranquil natural scenery surrounding them, as they contemplated the future. Stopping to dip their feet in the water, while the bronze sunset slowly sunk into the distant horizon that framed the devoted husband and wife to-be, they cuddled under the beautiful, starry-lit evening.
Cinthia and Melvin’s fondness for being with one another was evident throughout our location shoot, as they traipsed side-by-side every step of the way. Not wanting to miss a single minute of it, I joyously snapped away from varied angles. Both being quiet and reserved, I took extreme pleasure in catching candid poses that captured their emotional moments.
Cinthia described how Melvin proposed to her one morning when she and he went to breakfast at the harbor, which she’ll never forget—making it especially appropriate to return to a place where he’d asked her (on bended knee) to become his bride, and share his life.
The serene, calmness of Stearn’s Wharf reflected the mood within the picturesque snapshots I was able to get of their relaxed, unguarded moments of reflection. It’s easy to see how much Melvin loves Cinthia in the sweet gestures he displays towards her, and how she genuinely returns her mutual affection for him. My photographs convey the gentleness that comes through whenever they’re together. He is truly her Prince Charming and she, his princess-in-waiting. A real gentleman, I let Melvin’s obvious chivalrous nature shine! Cinthia says she knows that she is his first priority, now and forever.
After the engagement photo shoot at the Wharf, Cinthia’s now more assured than before that we’ll do the same for her when she and Melvin exchange their vows in an unmatched fashion I love to deliver to my special clients. She knows too, it will be a day she’ll always cherish, as they prepare for the day they become united in matrimony.

We were lucky enough to have Mrs. Roldan, Mr. David Koris & Cesiah Roldan joining Cinthia & Melvin’s Engagement Session. They were really helpful during entire photosession!
You probably recognize some familiar faces, Yes! I photographed David and Cesiah’s wedding last year! Cinthia is Cesiah’s sister. I feel like this part of family already!
